Rhodes is a suburb of Sydney located in the Inner West of the Australian state of New South Wales. It was once a part of Concord Municipality until December 2000, when Drummoyne Council merged with it to establish Canada Bay. The terms "Rhoders" or "Rhodesiens" are used to refer to people from Rhodes. Rhodes, about 3 kilometres from Sydney Olympic Park, is situated on a peninsula between Bray Bay and Homebush Bay, on the southern bank of the Parramatta River. The Bennelong Bridge has been linking Rhodes to the residential community of Wentworth Point on the western side of Homebush Bay since 2016.

Road Network and bridges

Overlooking the Parramatta River, the Ryde Bridge connects Rhodes and Ryde. Rhodes is located on the A3, a significant north-south road that runs through Sydney's suburbs. Two of the area's primary east-west thoroughfares are Victoria Road to the north and the M4 Western Motorway/Parramatta Road/City West Link to the south.connections.

Bennelong Bridge

The Bennelong Bridge, which connects Footbridge Boulevarde in Wentworth Point to Gauthorpe Street in Rhodes for buses, emergency vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians, opened in May 2016. Although kayaking would be little affected save for close to the shore of Rhodes, the bridge will affect boat access into the southern half of the bay and its potential usage for recreational sailing.

Rhodes is home to a variety of cycle paths maintained by the Council and Roads & Maritime Services, mostly along Llewellyn and Walker Streets, which are connected by Leeds Street and an underpass under Ryde Bridge. There are shared walks behind the shopping centre and workplaces in Rider Boulevarde, immediately to the west of the railway, and along the Homebush Bay beachfront (incomplete un 2010). On both sides of the river, bicycle lanes lead west to Silverwater Bridge and then on to Parramatta. There is a bike path and a pedestrian promenade on the former railroad bridge that connects Meadowbank with Rhodes, known as the John Whitton Bridge. There are connections to the bike path that primarily follows the Cooks River to Botany Bay.
